Rev. Fr. John M. Thomas
Pastor, SS Peter and Paul Church

Fr. John Thomas has been pastor of SS Peter and Paul since 2003. A 1988 graduate of St. Pius X Seminary in Erlanger, Kentucky and Thomas More College, he majored in Elementary Education, with a focus in Theology and Philosophy. In August of 1988 he began his graduate work at Saint Meinrad Seminary in St. Meinrad, Indiana, graduating with a Master of Divinity in May 1993. Fr. John brings his honest style of worship to Hopkinsville and beautiful reverence for the Blessed Sacrament. Any time you enter the Mass with Fr. John celebrant, you will know the true presence of Christ in his servant. At any given time his sermons will move you to laugh, then cry, then worship of Jesus Christ, the King of Heaven, and friend to men.

Father Carmelo Jimenez
Associate Pastor

Father Carmelo was born in Jiquipilas, Chiapas, Mexico. The son of Adelfo Jomenez and Lucinda Salinas, he is the seventh of nine siblings. Father Carmelo entered the Seminary in 1990, was ordained Deacon in 1998, and received the Holy Orders in 1999. Since then, Father has served as a Parochial Vicar in Our Lady of the Assumption in Ixtapa; San Pedro Parish in Chenalho; San Pablo Parish in Chalchihuitan; Señor del Pozo Parish in Chicoasén, and San Pedro Apostol Parish in Tuxtla, Chiapas (Mexico). Father Carmelo has also served in Mexico as Diocesan Coordinator of Catechesis for children and Diocesan Director of Communications. Father arrived in the US in 2006 and was appointed as Associate Pastor of Saints Peter and Paul. Father Carmelo is also the Parochial Vicar of Saints Mary and James Parish in Guthrie, KY.

Rev. Fr. Uwem Enoh
Associate Pastor

Fr. Uwem Enoh was born in Abak in Southern Nigeria, one of six siblings: four boys and two girls. His father, Augustine retired as a school Headmaster; his mother, Josephine is a teacher in a middle school. After completing elementary school and High school in Nigeria, he received a bachelors degree from St. Joseph’s Theological College, Cedara, South Africa. Coming to the United States in 2004, he attended, then graduated from Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology. Fr Enoh was ordained as a Catholic priest in May 29, 2010. We welcome his arrival in our parish!

Judy Folz
Office Manager

Judy has been employed by SS Peter and Paul Church for over 20 years. No question is too difficult for Judy to find an answer. Between balancing the books, scheduling Masses and overall managing the office, parishioners are given top priority when they come to Judy's office!

Sue Wassmer
Parish Secretary

Sue welcomes you to SS Peter and Paul as you enter the church offices, cheerily answers the phone, and does many other "duties as assigned.".

Libby Downs
Pastoral Associate
Libby is the Pastoral Associate here at SS PP but also serves all the youth of our parish coordinating the middle school and high school youth as well as director of the PSR (parish school of religion) program for children ages 4-12. On Monday's you will find her instructing those inquirers of the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation)

Carl Schmidt
Director of Hispanic Ministry
Carl coordinates support for the area Hispanic community, and assists Father Carmelo in his ministry.

Ed Shemwell
Maintenance Supervisor
Ed is a master electrician & Carpenter and has helped our parish so much since he joined staff in 2005. Even if you think it can't be done, Ed knows a way!! He created our crèche for the church manger scene and replaced the out of date lighting in the school with the newest, top of the line lighting so our excellent students can excel to their potential! We are a blessed Parish to have Ed in charge of all maintenance of the building and grounds.
